Are Squats Burning You Out?

by Battle Born Supplements on September 09, 2021

Excessive muscle over-repetition (ROM) is never ideal for any exercise and can sometimes suggest movement dysfunction or aberration. Not just squats, all movements

Simply put, excessive ROM is never ideal for any exercise and can sometimes suggest movement dysfunction or aberration. According to current study, tiredness, lower proprioceptive feedback, and greater risk of injury involve a broad variety of movements. In other words, simply creating a highly mobile overblown ROM does not suggest that you are productive.

The specific traits shown by research relate to sloppy movement with poor motor control, impaired muscle function, greater risk of injury, reduced muscular activation, neuro-muscular inhibition, and a lower proprioception. Another way of thinking about this is that quality movement includes regulated, narrow, and compact motion with moderate and natural ROM, whereas the exact opposite of dysfunctional movement, namely excessive ROM, involves excessive motion. Not only squats but all movements are subject to these concepts.
